James D. Hutter

James D. Hutter has served on the Board of Directors for Constructive Partnerships Unlimited since 2021 and sits on the Finance and Investment Committee and the Housing and Property Committee. Based in Darien, CT, Mr. Hutter is a financial and business leader active in the nonprofit world, most notably serving as Chief Financial Officer for Harlem Children’s Zone until 2021.

Mr. Hutter continues to work with the Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) in an Executive Advisor capacity. Before his tenure at the HCZ, he served as a Managing Director for JP Morgan Chase, founding two businesses (Private Equity in 2006, and Real Estate in 2010), and spearheading growth in untapped and underserved markets. Mr. Hutter has also held the titles of SVP and Head of Corporate Reporting and Managing Director & CFO of Chase Securities under JP Morgan Chase. He started his career in 1979 at PricewaterhouseCoopers. 

In his personal life, Mr. Hutter is active in his community and faith. He is a former Board member of REACH Youth New England, Citizen Care Inc., and volunteered with Carver Community Center. 

Mr. Hutter received his MBA in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh in 1979, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He received his BS in Biology from Pennsylvania State University. He is the recipient of the PricewaterhouseCooper’s Distinguished Alumni Award, a member of the AICPA and PICPA, and served as the Chair of the University of Pittsburgh Business Alumni Distinguished Alumni dinner.
