John R. Horvath

John R. Horvath has been a member of the Board of Directors of Constructive Partnerships Unlimited (formerly known as Cerebral Palsy of New York State) since 1972. He currently sits on the Finance and Investment Committee, stepping down as Chair of that Committee in 2020.

John R. Horvath has been a member of the Board of Directors of Constructive Partnerships Unlimited (formerly known as Cerebral Palsy of New York State) since 1972. He currently sits on the Finance and Investment Committee, stepping down as Chair of that Committee in 2020.

Mr. Horvath's many years of professional experience as a Certified Public Account enables him to bring financial management expertise to the organization. As a parent of a son with disabilities, he provides a family member's perspective on services in the field of disabilities. In recognition of his many years of service, CP of NYS recognized him with the Pioneer Award in 1999 and in 2002 an independent community residence located in the Bronx, was named Horvath House in his honor and in 2019, CP of NYS's Award of Distinction was named in honor of Mr. Horvath.

Mr. Horvath has played a key role in the rapid development of CP's state-wide organization as well as the local Affiliate, CP Rochester, where he is a Past Chairman, a member of numerous committees, as well as a member of CP Rochester's Hall of Fame. He has received the Humanitarian Award from CP Rochester and has had their Employee of the Year Award named in his honor.

Mr. Horvath remains a dedicated public servant, volunteering his time to numerous organizations. He has served on the Board of the Al Sigl Center, a partnership of nine independent agencies serving individuals with disabilities in the Rochester area as well as volunteering with the Legal Aid Society, St. Mary's Church and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. He was a Trustee of Hobart & William Smith Colleges, where he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate. He received a Founders Award from St. Joseph's Villa. In 2018 Mr. Horvath received the National Philanthropy Day Burton S. August Sr. Prize for Community Leadership.
