Emergency Housing Services
Working to apply our residential experience and expertise around housing supports for persons with disabilities, the Agency expanded our umbrella of services to include Emergency Housing options for specific populations in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens.
Brooklyn: Emergency Housing for Families
This former hotel is now a place of refuge, hope, and transition as 137 people- including children- are housed here for up to 9 months. Open since June 2024, the 50-unit space includes on-site family and recreational programming, such as homework assistance, community visits, and movie nights, laundry services, and 24-hour security.
Since opening, CPU has been able to transition 150 people to permanent housing options.

Brooklyn: Emergency Housing for Individuals
Opening on Marcus-Garvey Boulevard in September 2025 within the existing armory building, the site will house up to 200 men in a dorm-style setting for 3-6 months, during which residents will seek to obtain permanent accommodations with the assistance of the CPU team.
