At the end of 2024, CP Unlimited completed its acquisition of Creative Lifestyles, Inc. a Bronx-based provider of residential, Day Hab, Respite, and Community Habilitation supports for nearly 150 adults with disabilities.
Founded by Ann Hill, their culturally-sensitive mission to assist individuals with developmental disabilities to be independent, empowered, and full members of their community is carried out by their dedicated team of more than 100 professionals. They started providing these leading services in 1994 and never looked back.
Residential
Creative Lifestyles provide twenty-four-hour residential supports to forty-one adults with development disabilities in nine different Individualized Residential Alternatives throughout the Bronx. The program also provides individualized skills training to each person receiving service to maximize their independence, by building daily living skills. Each residence is designed to be a welcoming, accessible, and nurturing environment where persons with disabilities can thrive and is staffed by dedicated professionals who approach their work with passion and a true desire to serve.
Day Hab
Opened in a 5,000 sq foot setting in the Hunts Point section of the South Bronx in January 2000, the program was established to provide functional, social, personal development and community awareness skills to developmentally disabled adults 18 and up. The program offers computer, budgeting, and other classes, art experiences, a state-of-the-art kitchen for cooking lessons, and additional spaces for learning and skill-building.
Through community canvassing, CL has also established volunteer worksite commitments with Bronx Based businesses and social service organizations in and around the Mott Haven community affording participants the opportunity to serve as kitchen, janitorial, library and teacher’s aides.
Community Habilitation
The inventive lens extends to Community Habilitation work where their approach is to decentralize the residential component and provide services to parents and adult children with disabilities in their own homes. This service allows the 25 participants to maximize their living skills while taking the opportunity to contribute to the local community.
Cardio Club
CL’s innovative Cardio Club offers professional strength-building equipment, alongside movement and wellness classes, yoga, and more. Offered in a double-storefront on Bruckner Boulevard, participants learn about total health through a program based on healthy lifestyle choices inclusive of healthy eating, portion control, muscular and skeletal anatomy, illness and disease prevention and recovery.
